Strange hobby of the moment: following select criminal trials and obsessively discussing on reddit
I've always been fascinated by human behavior and the human experience, what makes us tick, or doesn't, what makes me tick, or doesn't. I don't like when things don't make sense, and for a very long time, I was the thing that didn't make sense. I couldn't make sense of myself. There was a massive disconnect between how I wanted to think, do and feel, and how I was able to think, do and feel. So I set out to make sense of it all. It's an ongoing mission that's evolved into a career helping others make sense of themselves and their own lives as a means of facilitating meaningful change.
Why DO you do the things you do?
How DID you end up here?
Why do you KEEP REPEATING this undesired behavior with undesired results?
Why are you NOT doing the thing you want yourself to be doing?
HOW can you get yourself to do the things?
We ask these questions all the time. “Why am I like this?” Right? But we’re not really asking, are we? We’re accusing. We’re judging ourselves. We’re making accusations masquerading as questions. Far more effective, what I’ve learned to do and want to help you learn, is to sincerely ask these questions in search of answers. Most importantly, understand that answers do exist. (Always assume the existence of “x,” if you will.)
A funny thing happens when you start sincerely searching for answers. You start finding them.

ON BEING A CLIENT...
A lot of people are surprised to learn that as a coach, I've been a client and will continue to be one in the future. It's why I'm so passionate about it. I know firsthand the benefits and how different life can be.

I can say for myself, I would not have the quality of life I have today were it not for learning how to manage my own mind. I was fortunate to go to college and graduate, with honors, but I didn’t learn anything in school about living a good life or even being successful in a career. I still ended up broke, depressed, unhappy in relationships, and feeling very empty. I kept trying to change and fix things, but I didn’t realize that I was trying harder at the same old patterns that had never worked before. It wasn’t until I learned how to investigate my own mind and get intentional about change that I was able to make true progress. Now I can build new habits, troubleshoot what's not working, seek out the right kind of support, respond better to circumstances or conflict rather than react. I’ve built a different relationship with myself, shed many layers of what others think I should or shouldn't be/do/feel and have come to live a more purposeful, fulfilling life.
